Guardianship
ADEC’s Guardianship Services are a combination of protective and legal services serving disabled adults. Services are designed to protect clients, help with important medical and personal decisions and advocate for them when necessary.
ADEC operates a corporate guardianship program which has adopted the National Guardianship Association Standards of Practice and Codes of Ethics as our policy and operating procedures. www.guardianship.org
Our staff are National Certified Guardians who maintain and renew this two year credential issued by the Center on Guardianship Certification. www.guardianshipcert.org
ADEC Services include:
• Full or limited guardianship
• Temporary or permanent guardianship
• Community Education about guardianship
• Advocacy
• Training in self-advocacy
As a part of the Indiana Adult Guardianship Services Project ADEC is recruiting and training volunteers to be volunteer guardian advocates for adults with developmental disabilities. www.arcind.org/index/iags/project-mission-goals.asp
