Board of Directors
Our local communities are part of the fabric that is ADEC. Our friends, neighbors, business associates, educators and our clients are all stakeholders in our mission. Members of ADEC’s Board of Directors represent all areas and aspects of our community. It is this diverse representation that has helped make ADEC a solid and reliable community resource since 1952.
Jennifer L. Sager, Past Chairperson
Jenny Sager is in special education administration for the Elkhart Community Schools. She has her bachelor’s degree in elementary education and a master’s degree in Moderate and Severe Mental Development Disabilities. She is also certified in early childhood, orthopedic impairments and school administration. Jenny grew up in Elkhart and has been involved with ADEC for many years. She has served on the ADEC Board since 2000 and is very active on the ADEC Guardianship Committee. Her sister Stephanie is an ADEC client receiving services. Jenny also has maintained friendships over the years with other people experiencing developmental disabilities and they have added much happiness to her life. Jenny and her husband Jim have a daughter living in California where she teaches special education.
Kevin R. Boyer, Chairperson
Kevin is Chief Financial Officer of the Elkhart Clinic. He graduated from Manchester College with a degree in Accounting. He received his MS, Administration from the University of Notre Dame. Kevin is currently serving on the Timbercrest Senior Living Center board and is a former board member and president of the Triton School Corporation. Kevin and his wife, Ruth, live in Bourbon, Indiana. They have four children and one grandchild.
Jenny M. Schrock, Vice Chairperson
Jenny M. Schrock is Manager of Healthy Beginnings Division of Elkhart County Health Department. She received her BS from Ball State University and MSA from the University of Notre Dame. Jenny has served on the ADEC Guardianship Committee since January, 2004. She and her husband live in Goshen.
John R. Auer, Secretary
John is a retired business owner and has resided in Elkhart County for the past 26 years. He is a member of Brenneman Missionary Memorial Church and Chairman of the Goshen Interfaith Hospitality Network. John and his wife Carol have three children and live in Middlebury, Indiana.
Don Anderson
Don is Senior Vice President, Managing Director of Wells Fargo Insurance Services in Elkhart. He is a graduate of Indiana University and began his insurance career in 1973. Don has served on several Boards and this is his second time to serve on ADEC’s Board. Don and his wife live in Middlebury, Indiana.
Matt Duthie
Matt is operations manager for Premium Concrete Services in Elkhart. He and his wife Chrisina reside in Elkhart. Prior to joining the Board of Directors, Matt served as a volunteer helping out with ADEC's Basketball Team.
Anne L. Eisele
Anne is an associate in the law firm of Warrick & Boyn, specializing in corporate and commercial matters, including litigation defense and employment and labor law. She joined Warrick & Boyn in 2007 after receiving her MBA degree from Valparaiso University. She is actively involved in civic and community programs including the United Way of Elkhart County.
John Goebel
John is retired from Home Crest Corporation where he served as President. He is a graduate of University of Michigan and received his MMA from Northwestern. John is a member of Rotary, Elkhart Housing Partnership Board, and Elkhart Housing Authority. John and his wife, Judy live in Elkhart and have 2 children.
Debra S. Hogan
Deb is a CPA and a graduate of Indiana University. She is active in the Lions Club, the Board of Legal Aid and has served on numerous boards of area not-for-profit agencies. She is a lifelong resident of Elkhart.
Cindie L. McPhie
Cindie is the Director of Rehab and Neurosciences at Elkhart General Healthcare System . She received her BS in Physical Therapy from Temple University, Philadelphia, PA and her MBA from Westminster College, Salt Lake City, Utah. Cindie and her husband Joe reside in Granger, Indiana.
Laurie N. Nafziger
Laurie was named president/CEO of Oaklawn Psychiatric Center Inc., in 2006. Since 1987 she has served in a variety of administrative capacities at Oaklawn. She holds a master of social work degree from Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo, with an emphasis in policy, planning and administration. Laurie serves on numerous not-for-profit boards in Elkhart County. She and her husband, Roger, reside in Goshen and are parents of three adult children.
Jason Pippenger
Jason L Pippenger is the manager of pre-construction for DJ Construction in Goshen. He and his wife Kelly and family live in Elkhart. He is a graduate of Purdue University and is active in the Nappanee Missionary Church.
Thomas Pletcher
Thomas is a real estate developer in the Bristol area. He and his wife, Dana have 2 children and live in Bristol, Indiana.
Ronald R. Ray
Ron is employed at Harmon in Elkhart and resides in Goshen with his wife Mable. He is a former member of the Elkhart Human Relations Commission and also taught English at Pierre Moran Junior High. He is the past-president of the North Central State Chapter of the American Council of the Blind of Indiana.
Brian J. Smith
Brian is returning to the ADEC Board of Directors after serving well over a decade in the 1990’s and early in the new millennium. He currently serves as co-CEO of Heritage Financial Group. Brian and his wife Lauri and family live in Bristol. He has served on numerous local Boards including the YMCA, United Way, Elkhart Chamber of Commerce and the Elkhart County Community Foundation.
